About Toy Dog Mag

Big Love for Little Dogs
Hi there lovely reader, and thank you for stopping by! Here at Toy Dog Mag, we believe that all pets, including the smallest dogs, can be an amazing force for good in the world if we let them influence us. They make us better people for knowing and loving them. With your support, we’re on a mission to inspire greater understanding, respect, and appreciation for small dogs everywhere
If there’s a toy dog somewhere in your life, be kind to the little beastie. We intentionally bred them to be cute and they need us to look out for them in a rough and tumble world. Wherever you happen to meet one, just know they’re real dogs too and deserve our respect as much as their bigger cousins.
Why Toy Dogs Matter Today
Today as there are more people than ever on the planet, toy dogs may just be the humane choice of fur friend in an increasingly crowded world. Sometimes you can feel alone in a city of millions. Coming home to your furry family can be so reassuring, no matter what kind of day you’ve had.
Thoughtful Care for Small Dogs
Toy Dog Mag embraces dogs and animals of all shapes and sizes. May we as humans make this world a better place for all living creatures. It takes a community to raise a fur child, this one’s for the toy dogs.
My Inspiration: Pepi
This site is dedicated to toy dogs all over the world in loving memory of a little pooch who packed an unforgettable punch!
Toy dogs may be small, but the space they hold in our lives is anything but.
Pepi was never just a dog — he was my teacher. Through him, I learned how much presence, comfort, and joy a small dog can bring us. His sensitivity, loyalty, and ability to simply be there shaped the way I understand dogs and the people who love them.
He was a presence — curious, expressive, and constant. When he made his final exit, the space he left behind felt too big to ignore. So his person, Alarna, did what many dog lovers do in their own way: she told his story.
In 2012, those memories became a small series of illustrated e-books, written in gentle verse and inspired by the everyday moments we shared. Rendered in simple black and white, they echo the picture books many of us remember from childhood — timeless, familiar, and full of heart.
Today, Pepi’s story lives on through Toy Dog Mag. It’s a reminder of why small dogs matter, why they deserve thoughtful care and understanding, and why their impact is always far greater than their size.
Toy Dog Mag exists because of Pepi — and for every toy dog who leaves a lasting imprint on the people who love them.
Some stories are meant to be read once.
Others are meant to be carried with you.
Pepi’s belongs to the second kind.
